Two years after being separated following an attempted border-crossing, a young mother is reunited with her 12-year-old son. But the small child she knew is now an Americanized teenage boy. Forced to reconcile with the fact that her son has had to create a life without her, and feelings of inadequacy, she must learn how to connect with him again.
Set in present-day Los Angeles, BIENVENIDO JUANITO centers around the boundaries we are willing to cross, and the sacrifices prepared to make, to protect those we love.
